Pictures and More - The Real World Strikes: 2002

Another winter means another trip out to see Hubox in Vail. Vail 2002 met and exceeded any expectations I had from the year before and, as usual, Josh showed us a great time. Pieton and I made a five-day trip out to see how we could hang. These pics represent a collaborative effort throughout our stay. Josh, you've got a great thing going out there. You SURE you want to leave?? Thanks for a great time!
This roll covers February and March of 2002. In February, a group of us OU alum went skiing at Seven Springs in Pennsylvania, where Pieton had a little surprise planned. What started out as a typical ski get-a-way turned into a celebration of Jason and Eleanor's engagement. There are also some pics here from a trip I made to OU in March.
For St. Patrick's Day 2002 a bunch of us headed to downtown Cleveland. We decided to make a day out of it, heading down a little before noon and making it until about midnight before going back to Mentor. This was the first year I'd been able to go downtown and I have to say I was not disappointed. G took his Digital Elph along (I LIKE that camera) and took some shots to document the occasion. This is our story....
On May 4th, 2002 a good friend of mine from here in Mentor married the man of her dreams. Sean Mooney and Suzanne Brickman tied the knot, and I was fortunate enough to witness the occasion. And what an occasion it was! There's also a couple pics at the beginning of this roll from a couple nights around town.
June 8, 2002 saw yet another marriage. Rob Smutylo and Angie Gee married in Mansfield, OH. Both are OU alum. Rob lived across the hall from me in Sargent with Jake Campbell (let me tell you that room always had something going on...). Got to see some other fellow Bobcats at the reception. Brad was nice enough to let me take his digital camera for a spin. It took some nice pics, whenever I didn't have the shutter speed screwed up...
This next set of pics is from a night out with some friends in Willoughby in August of 2002. And I stand corrected: the married folk still CAN hang with the rest of us....thanks again for use of the Elph, G!
Well just about every Wednesday the weather cooperates we head down to bike night at Quaker Steak and Lube in Independence, OH. One week we took along G's Elph (once again, thanks G!) and took some shots. Jamie and Matt joined Gary and I for a night of food, fun, and, best of all, bikes!........too bad none of the pics turned out we took later in the night of a bunch of guys stunting on the west side...
In November I made a trip down to Columbus for the Ohio State/Michigan game. As the last game of the year, it was all that stood between OSU and a perfect season. In classic Buckeye style it came down to the last few seconds of the game (where it looked like UM might score, I should add), but they did pull it off to clinch their place in the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 3, 2003.
Here are some more Homecoming pics as well as pictures from that Saturday at the Krumpack wedding in Canton. Then back down to OU for Saturday night...
Hard to believe it had been a year since the last one, but on the weekend of October 19th alumni from far and wide once again returned to OU for Homecoming. As usual, a lot of guys made the trip back from all over the country really. And to top things off, Brad and Heather (also OU alum) got married in Canton, OH on that Saturday; it was a whole other OU reunion up there. One heck of a weekend. This first roll of pictures covers Homecoming as well as some following events, namely Halloween in Cleveland and the 2003 Fiesta Bowl in Columbus (featuring the National Champ Buckeyes, of course). Awesome game, to say the least. Some say the best football game ever televised...
This roll covers a Browns tailgate session in downtown Cleveland with Sean, Suzanne, and their crew as well as a trip to Los Angeles later that month to visit Julie.
